Repose
‘Repose' explores the intimate relationship between environment and self. Focusing on compositional balance, texture and natural contours, ‘Repose’ creates a harmonious moment of reflection.
The work is an expression of the interplay between surroundings and personal wellbeing, illustrating that the nurture of one will always show in the other. Utilising recycled Australian clay to form the abstract, shapely silhouette. The work invites the audience to explore their own sense of balance between place and self.
This original sculpture is composed using traditional hand-building techniques. The sand coloured glaze creates a rough volcanic like finish to the vessel.
